Stars Week: New Student Orientation Week

Stars Week

Stars Week is a week-long celebration to introduce new students to the OCU experience. All new undergraduate students participate in both mandatory and optional events that will create connections to the campus community in and out of the classroom.

Highlights of Stars Week include:

  • Small Group Meetings
  • Stars Week Kick-Off at RIVERSPORT
  • Matriculation Convocation
  • OKConnect: Stars Week Service Project
  • Traditions Rally
  • First-Year Follies

Stars Week is also full of opportunities to acquaint you with campus life and people who will help you make the successful transition to college life. Parents and families are also welcomed through Wednesday of Stars Week.

Make the Most of your Stars Week Experience!

This is one week of your university experience that is all about YOU! Make the most of this experience to prepare yourself for the next four years of your college career. How to do this?

You will be spending the whole week in a new place, with new people, trying new things. This is your time to experience all that college has to offer and we will do our best to make it as welcoming and friendly as possible. Don't hesitate to try something new and to have FUN!

If you have a question, ask it! Odds are someone else in the room wants to know too. We are here to help inform you and do our best to give you a crash course on everything you need to know, but that is a lot to learn in just a few days. The more questions you ask, the more you will understand.

This is possibly the most important piece of Stars Week. Meet your classmates! Get to know your Resident Assistants, Orientation Leaders, staff, and faculty members around campus. We want OCU to feel like home to you! Finding your support system here will help you thrive in your first year of college.
