Biography
Jose Medina graduated from the University of ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓƵ (OU) College of Medicine Physician Assistant (PA) Program in December of 2006 and is also University of Central ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓƵ (UCO), graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology. He participated in a post-graduate emergency medicine internship at the Mercy ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓƵ City Health Center’s Emergency Department from 2006-2007. Directly afterwards, Jose transitioned into a medical staff position there, where he has since remained in either prn, part-time, or full-time manner. From 2014-2017, Jose worked as full-time faculty for the OU College of Medicine Physician Assistant Program, fulfilling roles as Clinical Director, Clinical Outreach Director, and Lead Administrative PA, before leaving the program to pursue further education in the clinical instruction of anatomical sciences. Throughout that time Jose also served on many ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓƵ Academy of Physician Assistants (OAPA), was an executive board member for the OAPA, and served 2 years as vice president to the organization. He has recently finished the OU Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum (ILAC) Biomedical PhD Program, passing his general exams last Summer, and is an official doctoral candidate currently working on his prospectus and dissertation. In addition to finishing his graduate PhD program in the Summer of 2021, Jose transitioned into a full-time faculty role at the ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓƵ (OCU) PA program this Fall, where he serves at the Director for Evaluation and Assessment and instructs anatomy.
