Education

Areas of Expertise

Dr. Dearmon specializes in macroeconomic development, spatial econometrics and modeling of higher education outcomes. He has published in journals such as Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization and European Journal of Political Economy. His current research stream involves analyzing spatial processes using machine-learning techniques and he has applied these techniques to real-world issues found in the energy industry. Prior to obtaining his Ph.D., Dr. Dearmon spent a few years as a consultant developing computer applications for the oil and gas industry.

Professional Activities

Associate Professor Dearmon has worked with the Steven C. Agee Economic Research and Policy Institute to design and create an ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓƵ forecast model for the City of ÌÇÐÄvlogÊÓƵ City. He is a member of the Omicron Delta Epsilon and the American Economic Association.
